Willow Brook at Delaware Run and Willow Brook Christian Village seek a contingent Companion Nurse for Delaware campuses. This contingent nurse will work within Willow Brook residents’ homes (licensed residential care apartments or rooms) to provide direct patient nursing care. The nurse will instruct residents and their families in proper treatment, and help residents take steps needed to improve or maintain health following a physician-established plan of treatment. Examples of duties include setting up and maintaining a medication schedule, including weekly pill boxes or automatic dispensers; administering medications per physician orders; dressing changes; diabetic teaching and monitoring; ostomy care; and medical equipment monitoring, etc. Nurse must hold a current, unrestricted State of Ohio license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and have a minimum of one-year of direct care nursing experience. Must maintain the ability to communicate with physicians or other medical professionals in regards to established care plans for residents. Organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills a must. Due to the changing needs of residents, nurse must be able to provide services on a flexible schedule (days, evenings, and weekends). Other requirements are a valid Ohio driver’s license with a safe driving record, and an outgoing, energetic, and caring personality with a love of serving older adults.
