Job responsibilities also include general nursing care, working with consulting pharmacists and physicians to plan appropriate care for the residents and will oversee nurse aides and floor nurses. The charge nurse will maintain open communication with residents and their family members. She or he will monitor and maintain infection control records and practices (including hepatitis vaccines and Mantoux testing for employees), educates staff on infection control, conducts outbreak investigation/initiates control measures, and reports communicable diseases to the State as required by law.
Applicants must be licensed with the Ohio Board of Nursing as a registered or licensed practical nurse and have proven experience in a geriatric nursing/assisted living facility. Successful supervisory experience is highly preferred. Nurse manager must demonstrate good problem-solving and organizational skills, excellent communication skills, have an understanding, patient, and tactful attitude in caring for elderly people and in relating with family members, have the ability to maintain the established quality of services to fulfill the objectives of a Willow Brook facility, and must demonstrate patience, kindness, loyalty and set example of Residents’ Rights to fellow staff members. Computer literacy required.
